The amazingly talented George Michael performed on the American Idol Season Finale last night and he was incredible. (Click to see who won American Idol.) George performed his hit Praying for Time. It was la la la lovely. Enjoy.

As usual, Paula Abdul never fails to disappoint on American Idol. I won't break it down play by play for you since the video clearly speaks for itself. Whatever Paula is on is working. I'm not sure it's working in a productive or coherent way but it's definitely working! Enjoy. xox.

David does Dolly.

This week the amazingly talented and funny Dolly Parton was the guest on American Idol. She was her usual kitschy and humorous self. The contestants all sang past Dolly hits and no contestant did it better than David Archuleta. He performed Dolly's hit Smokey Mountain Memories. As annoying as David's innocently coy and shy persona is, I can't help but adore his voice. Check out the performance below.

Imagine.

I've never really been a fan of John Lennon's song Imagine. I mean, duh, I totally dig the message and all that but the original and every remake that I have ever heard has just seemed corny and cheesy. Yes - even Madge's version was dull dull dull. She's not getting love from me there. Well, the absolutely adorable and talented David Archuleta performed the song last night on American Idol and it was brilliant. If for no other reason at all you should tune in to American Idol to see this young chap perform. The judges and the fans love love love David. After the song, YOU MUST listen to Paula's comments on his performance! She said "David, you are ridiculous. I wanted to squish you, squeeze your head off, and dangle you from my rear-view mirror". No really - that is what she said - no joke. I bet she is only half kidding. Watch the clip.

Last week I featured a video interpretation of Christina Aguilera's song Ain't No Other Man. The video was laugh out loud funny. I found another video by the same guy but this time his sights are set on that awful song that played on America Idol season before last called Bad Day by Daniel Powter. I totally loathe that song so I'm glad to see someone having a go at it. The results, like the Christina video, are hilarious. Enjoy. xox.

In case you haven't been keeping up with American Idol, there is a young woman in the competition named Melinda Doolittle. She is a bit funny to watch but dang, can that girl sing!! Week after week Melinda gives the kind of performances that put her fellow competitors to shame. Ms. Doolittle has been thought to be an early front runner in the competition and rightfully so. A new exhibit in New York has been given the ax. In the works for an unveiling on Monday was a life-size chocolate sculpture of a naked Jesus in the front window of the Roger Smith Lab Gallery in Midtown Manhattan. The sculpture is named - get this - "The Sweet Lord". On Friday the gallery was inundated with calls from local Roman Catholics who planned a mass boycott and protest of the gallery if they decided to go through with their display. Under pressure, the gallery has decided they have no other choice but to cancel the exhibit. The gallery's artistic director has offered his resignation to protest the cancellation. I assume this is not an exhibit that will be melting in anyones mouth anytime soon. Bill Donohue, head of the watchdog Catholic League, said it was "one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever." Oh really? I would have thought that would have been the abuse of young children under the hands of priests that have come to light in the past few years. Hmmm, very interesting. In some of the best news for Britney Spears' career is the news that her divorce from K-Fed is official. "The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children." a spokesman for Federline's attorney told People Magazine. Now, Brit Brit quit publicly shaving yourself and attacking cars with umbrellas and start taking care of those kids and your music career.
