Over the next few weeks I'm going to be featuring the highly energized, fresh and funky art of a talented artist that I met years ago when I was at school. I met Monty Montgomery back in college when he was dating a dear friend of mine. Monty was always super chill and always had such a calm energy around him. Monty and I got reconnected, likely through the world of Myspace or something like that, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Monty showcases his work at cillidesigns.com and it warrants a proper visit now. To see what an amazing artist that Monty has grown in to is so inspiring. Monty is currently living in Charlottesville, Virginia and is continuing his very successful ventures in the arts through painting, poetry and just general unbridled creative energy. I've picked a few paintings that Monty has done with a description from the artist himself. You must journey through the fields. You must play all the games freely. You must feel the warmth of motion on your skin. Country roads to city streets.. Ideas and thoughts of what may be down certain avenues of time. Take your chances, listen to your callings.. Follow your path and journey into the city. Lock your doors and open your mind. So much lies within what you already possess. Use it. - MM.
One day I was thinking.... Life seems to be so much like standing in line for Ice Cream....So many flavors.. Different cones, awwwww man, do I get whip cream? sprinkles? o nice, a cherry, or just the custard... Hmmmm. People making there choices in front of you and behind you yet you have to make your own...In the end, you savor every last element of what you just held in your hands.... Is this not Life? - MM.
