It's hard to believe it's already December. We had our first snow in New York last night and the city is settling in for a long chilly winter. I always love this time of year so much. It's not as much about the holiday itself but more about all the parties and preparation around it. Me and my boyfriend put up our Christmas tree today and it looks lovely.
Each summer, when we spend our week away in Rehoboth, there is a Christmas store, open all year round, that we always have to visit. We have made it a tradition to pick a few ornaments each year that mean something to us. Whether it be a wine glass ornament, to highlight RJH's keen love for the libation, or a little red cardinal which is the Virgina state bird where I was born and bred, each ornament speaks to something in our lives.
This season always just makes me feel all gushy inside. I feel so grateful for the love I have in my life and for the good peeps that keep me going. On this chilly winter day, I hope you are happy, safe, and warm with the ones you love. This is the first winter holiday season with lil' Alice and she has taken quite a liking for the tree and all the holiday spirit. She made sure she was in the middle of everything and even took it upon herself to inspect the empty Christmas tree box as you can see below. Here's to a HAPPY and SAFE holiday season ahead. Cheers. xox.
