I will never ever grow tired of these ladies. The extended trailer for the May 27th release of the film, Sex & the City 2, has hit the web. This looks yummy and delicious. Soooo looking forward to this. Duh. Watch!

On rumors of friction with Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall: I don’t think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her. I wouldn’t have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.

On choosing a surrogate to carry her twins: I knew there would be lots of opinions about, ‘Well, why didn’t you adopt? Why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you do that?’ and the truth of the matter is, it wasn’t one or the other for us. We had explored, and continue to explore all options, and this one just happened first. This isn’t the period at the end of the sentence.

On being a hands-on mom: I love the smell of diapers; I even like when they’re wet and you smell them all warm liked a baked good. I love the smell of Balmex. Love it.

Sarah Jessica Parker ~ Bazaar

In March's Bazaar magazine the always fabulous Sarah Jessica Parker appears in an amazing spread. SJP pays homage to Diana Vreeland who was an iconic fashion editor at Bazaar many many years ago. Meryl Streep's inspiration for her role in The Devil Wears Prada was said to be after Diana - most thought it was after Anna Wintour but that is not completely true. The shots are striking and lovely. The cover of March's issue is absolutely beautiful as well (above) featuring a sleek SJP running across the Brooklyn Bridge. Icon meets Icon. Flawless. Unfortunately, this version of the cover is only available to subscribers of the magazine (which I'm glad I am - come on it's $12 bucks a year! I couldn't resist!). I totally missed this following clip when it came out way way back when SJP launched her second fragrance, Covet, and soon after her clothing line, Bitten, was released. Sarah sat down with Elle Magazine to discuss both creative offerings. As always, Sarah is quite engaging and funny. I could not agree more with the gushing interviewer who goes on and on about how SJP is a Pop Culture ICON. She is absolutely that 100% percent. I just saw the Sex and the City Movie this past weekend (YES - and I call myself a fan!) and I could not agree more! Regardless of how coy SJP sounds, it is what it is. She is an absolute beacon of fashion and influence. This is not only because she so beautifully wears it but as a designer she is trying to define it in her own unique and accessible way. It may all be an accident but it's a beautiful one. xox.

With the impending release of the Sex and the City movie this Friday (!!!), the cast is making the rounds doing press every chance they can get. SJP was recently on Letterman to promote the film. I think SJP is the most eccentric of the bunch. One would think that the role Sarah plays on SATC is very much like Carrie but I don't think so at all. The biggest comparison would be the two's attraction to fashion but that is about it. I think the word quirky comes to mind. David and SJP always have a very playful repartee when she is on his show. Sarah Jessica Parker teams up with her TV and now movie co-star Chris Noth for the cover story in this month's Vogue. The photos are stunning, all shot by the gifted Annie Leibowitz, and feature the duo at various New York locales. Even though the cover and its interior pages feature just Carrie and Mr.Big SJP and Chris Noth, the writer interviews much of the cast of the upcoming film. It's a yummy read. Check out the fabulous photos below. They are so magical. There is no better place, in my opinion, to capture such rich pictures than the streets and sexy spots in New York City. They even shot some photos on one of my favorite perches above the city, Top of the Rock, which sits at the top of the beautiful Rockefeller Center. The chemistry between the two of these actors is electric. SJP says of Chris in the article "It was incredibly easy with Chris. We stay in touch, we email, and we’re really good friends, and I just adore him. I just adore being around him." You can tell. xox.

Errrr...uhhhh...???

My love, Sarah Jessica Parker, showed up for the premiere of the Sex and the City Movie in London wearing what can only be described as a flower arrangement or possibly a table scape? I just do not know what to say about it.  It's soooooooooooooooooooo odd - like really!! I don't even totally hate it. I just question it. I think it's up to something. You know the other girls from Sex and the City were prepared to be upstaged by SJP but not by her hat! I wonder what she'll wear for the New York Premeire. I'm hoping for a replica of the Empire State Building on her head. Fingers Crossed!! xox.

On her fans: “They’re always, always kind. And I think to see me on the streets of New York, in a place that they might imagine the character would be—it makes people feel good.”

On the paparazzi culture: “It’s become more prevalent over the last four years, even more so the last 24 months. Now we just kind of eat it. It’s like empty calories. It’s shit. And it’s so base. I feel very ashamed, I feel like I’m like a—the town trollop. It makes me feel ashamed of my work. And I’m not. But I’m attached to this culture now in a way that, it’s kind of vulgar. And I feel cheapened. And I feel like I’m cheapening the school, like I’m bringing dirt, like I’m bad for the neighborhood.”

A few publicity shots were released for the Sex and the City Movie due for release on May 30th. I can't wait to see this freakin' film. This Spring has been super duper great for me in a Pop Culture sense considering I just got a new Madge album and now new SJP and the rest of the Sex and the City crew! Woot!!

Late Day Linkage.

Sex and the City - The Trilogy? Word from the UK's Daily Mail is that the ladies are in talks to do not one but TWO more Sex and the City movies. They are convinced that the first film, due May 2008, will be such a hit that they already have scripts in the works. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I will not be making any bets on the success. I'll love it but will most middle Americans? We shall see.
Madonna will be inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2008. Madonna will be inducted along with John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave Clark Five. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman said the following in a recent statement - "The 2008 inductees are trailblazers — all unique and influential in their genres. From poetry to pop, these five acts demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself."
New York Magazine has released what it is calling the The 2007 Culture Awards. The magazine surveyed critics and cultural types to get their "Best Of" votes. They touched on Architecture, Art, Books, Movies, music and a ton more. The results are a fun read.
The Merriam-Webster word of the year for 2007 is "w00t". "The word is defined as an interjection expressing joy. It could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all, similar in use to the word Yay." Sex - twice in one day.

Via socialitelife.com comes more shots from the Sex and the City movie. The movie only started filming and there is already so much publicity and excitement - well, from me at least. I promise to not post any more shots of the movie (this week!). I'm just super thrilled to see this come to fruition. Even if the movie bombs, I still think it's gonna be fun. The show, in it's day, was a trail blazer. It was saying things that most shows had never ever said. Desperate Housewives just isn't the new SATC. Even in all it's over the top pun heavy dialogue, SATC was pushing buttons and making people talk. I'm glad to see it still is. Ok - all done for now. How cute do these girls ladies look?! xox.

Crazy/Sexy/Cool

Hmmmmm...what do you call a dress like this? Where would one get a dress like this? Love it or leave it? This is a new shot of SJP filming the Sex and the City movie in NYC yesterday. Dlisted.com brilliantly termed it the "Venus Fly Tramp". LOL. This dress must be the result of the zany and off the wall styling of Patricia Field. That lady makes crazy look fierce. I can't wait! xox.

"Sex" on the way...

The Sex and the City movie began filming today in New York City. I was a huuuuge fan of the show so I'm thrilled to see it finally get produced. The four leading ladies have put aside what issues they had in the past and have agreed to make the film. Sarah Jessica Parker returns in the role she was born to play as Carrie Bradshaw along side Chris Noth aka Mr. Big. Also returning to the Sex and the City set will be the significant others of Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) played by Jason Lewis (Smith), David Eigenberg (Steve), and Evan Handler (Harry). In very cool news, a new face will appear in the cast. Recent Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson will play Carrie’s assistant in the new film. Sounds pretty exciting! The film opens in May of next year. Yippy skippy!
