A lovely little new blog that I stumbled across, LyricsQuote.com, featured some lyrics (damn good ones, I must say!) that my buddy wrote. They take lyrics from kick ass songs and feature them on caricature type lil' works of art. I'm liking it! See more HERE. There are only a few pages so far but they are off to a very good start.
It's quite popular these days to take a Lady Gaga gem and put your own spin on it. Some kids have taken to YouTube to get their versions out there. With several million views between them, these are some pretty fab examples you may like...
There is so much hate for Chistina's new track & video for Not Myself Tonight but I'm keeping my lil' lips shut. Do I like it like I like Gaga? NO. Do I dig it like I dig Madge? UMM HELL NO NO NO. But she looks smokin' hot and her voice has never sounded better. In a world of peroxide and hyped up vocals where she surely sits, she still holds her own no matter how played it's become. Watch.
Via one of my fave spots on the web, Towleroad, Andy introduced me to this visual and aural treat. The following is a fantastic band called Stomacher who have created a stunning video for their track entitled Untitled/Dark Divider. Watch.
When I was out in L.A. over the holidays my buddy Charlie and I sat down and listened to John Digweed's 2001 Global Underground: Los Angeles mix. I was floored with how incredible it was. I stumbled across this video below which features two tracks from the incredible DJ set. It's a lesson in listening. Truly hot music.
There is speculation that the recent string of teaser clips are for the release of Christina Aguilera's new album. It has also been assumed it could be Goldfrapp? Or possibly Little Boots? I'm still sooooooo not sure who it is but I'm quite intrigued. Watch the latest teaser below. See the past ones HERE.
The following track, a lil' gem called Time Stood Still, is one that I adore. The song was written for the 2000 flop film The Next Best Thingstarring Madgeand her good ol' pal (at that time!)Rupert Everett. The movie was not so great. This song, however, is sublime. TheWilliam Orbitproduced track is so lovely and supremely shows off her vocals. I need another Madonnaballad - now!
The tribute to Michael on Sunday's 52nd Grammy's featured one of my favorite Michael Jackson tracks called Earth Song. No more of my words need to preface this - Michael's song performed by some of pop music's best is enough. Enjoy.
I'm delayed in posting this but it's worth the wait. I'm not as big of a fan of this collaboration as I was when Gaga featured Beyonce on her track but girl, this is a visual fiesta. Goodness! Work it out!
