I love the work that artist Nate Page has done. Using razor blades and fashion mags, Nate creates fantastic and slightly creepy works of art. Although I can't help but think of THIS.
It's so weird. Sometimes I find things online and I just dig them. They may be very strange but I'm compelled to post them. The clips, quotes, photos and random samplings that I post, day after day, are a documentation of the things in my life that I find interesting and relevant from a Pop Culture perspective. The following is a fabulous video, edited for House Casting in New York City, which was played during last year's Paris Fashion Week. The song is based on the Iggy Pop songI Wanna Be Your Dog. The clip was directed by Georgie Greville. It's just fun. Fun Fun Fun.
Madonna's ex Tony Ward is featured in Wrangler's Spring 2010 campaign. He is looking better than ever in these new ads. However, it's not the shots featured here that I found to be so incredible but rather the microsite they have set up for the new line. It's a fully interactive flash-based site that is fun to play around with. I'm such a fan of brands that do fantastic digital work. Check it out when you have a moment. It's pretty fun.
RuPaul's Drag Race just premiered yesterday and from what I hear it's better than ever. The goal of RuPaul's show, beyond being utterly fabulous, is to find the next superstar drag queen. Matthew @ Boy Culture featured the following little glimpse into the show and RuPaul's perspective on this season. It's delicious. Watch.
On rumors of friction with Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall: I don’t think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her. I wouldn’t have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.
On choosing a surrogate to carry her twins: I knew there would be lots of opinions about, ‘Well, why didn’t you adopt? Why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you do that?’ and the truth of the matter is, it wasn’t one or the other for us. We had explored, and continue to explore all options, and this one just happened first. This isn’t the period at the end of the sentence.
On being a hands-on mom:I love the smell of diapers; I even like when they’re wet and you smell them all warm liked a baked good. I love the smell of Balmex. Love it.
I want to bring a strong fashion edge to the brand. Makeup is such a fashion accessory — I’d like to highlight that part of the brand, and also bring a playful touch to the franchise…I’m playing with all sorts of textures and finishes and colors. I want to cook a new meal for Estée Lauder.
- Tom Pecheux~ newly named creative makeup director for Estée Lauder.
This one is even better than the previous one I posted below. I totally LOVE that the real Rachel Zoe finds all of this funny. She tweeted about it today. Aaaaaaa-mazing. Watch.
Ok - this is brilliant. My favorite line ~ "OMG - These watermelons are bananas!" Watch now.
The actress in this video is Amy Phillips. She is so funny and totally nails this impression. Not sure or unfamiliar with the real Rachel Zoe?? See for yourself HERE.
YUM! Some of my favorite fashion icons appear in the following PSA for this week's Fashion's Night Out on September 10th. If you are in NY, go out, spend a few bucks on some fashionable duds and help support a cause. Watch and take part. xox.
The Ice Queen thaws a bit on Letterman's show. You can tell she is really trying to be funny but I don't think funny works well on her. I think I like Anna more on the frosty side. I love her! Watch.
Anna was there to plug her documentary called The September Issue by director RJ Cutler which shows the making of the September 2007 issue of Vogue. I soooo have to see this film. It looks amazing. The trailer is below. Enjoy.
Matt at Boyculture (via homotography) brings us some delicious pictures of our lord and savior Madonna's boyfriend, Mr. Jesus Luz. The shots are featured in the most recent Italian GQ. The young man is shot by photographer Mariano Vivanco. Check his site here - marianovivanco.com. Ummmm....Damn. Madonna's return to Jesuscouldn't be anymore understood. Amen.
The always interesting and unique Dame Vivienne Westwood spoke to Jonathan Ross on his Friday night show recently. Mrs. Westwood has such a fierce view on fashion and it's evolution. She implores the audience to stop buying fashion. She goes on to say if you do buy it than choose it really really well and wear it for ages until it drops off your back. She, of course, eludes that buying her clothes would obviously be a good way to go. The woman is just fabulous and lovely to watch. So get to it, my dear. Watch away. xox.
More photos have been released for the Fall Louis Vuitton campaign. Madonna is showing the world once again that she is the reigning Queen of Pop photoshop. It's so overly manipulated and doctored that neither Madonna nor the LV products are really the star. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. Ah well - It's not my favorite campaign but it's certainly eye catching. My fave shot is the last one below - the pink gloves, the pink bag. Yum. Check 'em out, loves. xx.
Ummmmm...That is quite the rope. Yum Yum Yum x 1000. The hair is adorable as well. Below you will find the newest collection of shots for Emporio Armani featuring the always lovely Mr. Beckham. I still wish he wouldn't talk though. The body of a God and the voice of Minnie Mouse. Ah well. xox.
Watch the unveiling of David's ad in london. It's HUGE. The ad, of course. Ahem.
Below is a first glimpse at Madge tonight at the Costume Institute Gala @ the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The hair thingy is odd but I think I like it! It's a lot more daring than we've seen her dress in recent memory. Check it! Mmmmm Mmmmm good! xox.
The always bizarrely lovely Amanda Lepore has just released the new video for her track Cotton Candy. I love Amanda. Love HER! The video, directed by Bec Stupak, also features Cazwell. Yum.
Justin was named one of the ten most stylish men in America by GQ Magazine. I do like their choice of Justin to lead the pack but I'm not fully impressed with the rest of the bunchGQ chose to fill the remaining 9 spots. I've compiled the shots of JT from the magazine and I'm really loving it. Justin looks so fresh and healthy and well, hot. I generally think of Justin recently either playing the fool or playing the scowling celeb. I totally get annoyed by Justin when he is "acting" in any capacity and I abhor the "victimized celebrity" bit. That is so tired and ridiculous. Don't get me wrong - I dig Justin's music, his moves, and his killer voice but if it's not a musical note coming out of his mouth then I'm more of a seen but not heard type. You liking the shots below?? Yum.
Madonna is back with another striking photo shoot with friend and artistic partner Steven Klein for W magazine. This shoot is the one that has been talked about for a while now due to Madonna's love connection made while on set. This shoot is where she met the lovely and very very hot Jesus Luz. I'm LOVING this entire spread. Madonna looks flawless. Madonna has been seen as many things over the course of her career and at 50 it looks the role of cougar is fitting quite nicely. You can check out a few below that I love. HOT!
(See the rest of the shoot HERE via Madonna Connexion.)
