Carrie Underwood won Entertainer of Year at this week's Country Music Awards and rightfully so. Every time she graces the stage she absolutley nails it. Carrie looked ravishing in red singing her hit song I told You So. Lovely.

I'm sooooooo not loving Carrie's new hair cut but I am loving this new duet with Randy Travis. The two sang Carrie's new hit single, I told you so last week on American Idol. The song was originally recorded by Randy back in the 80s. Carrie is flawless. Randy? Well, eeeeeh. Not amazing but nice. Check it out. xox.

Carrie's star continues to rise up up up.Carrie recently won Female Vocalist of the Year at the most recent Country Music Awards. She performed during the show and nailed it. Carrie does it again.

Last year Carrie Underwood appeared on the charity event called Idol Gives Back and she stole the show. In the previous show, she sang The Pretenders' I'll Stand By You and it was amazing. Again Carrie performed on the show and it was no different. For this week's performance she chose George Micheal's Praying For Time. Ummmmm...hello! I so so so love GM's version of the song. I'm going to see him on July 21st when he performs at Madison Square Garden and I totally hope he does that song. It's one of my favorite songs ever. I adore this song. The lyrics are as appropriate and touching today as they were when it was released it in the 90s. Check out Carrie's version below. She is absolutely brilliant. Enjoy. xox.

So I'm not a fan of the wigs that Miss. Carrie sports in this new video but I give her an "A" for sticking to her roots. She looks as cute as she always does. This is Carrie's 2nd single, All American Girl, from her huge hit album, Carnival.

Carrie Underwood & Jamie O'Neal performed this past summer on CMT's Greatest Duets Concert. It came on the television the other night and I decided to record for my boyfriend who is a huge country fan. I wasn't familiar with Jamie O'Neal prior to this performance but she more than made an impression. The duo sang the hit Does He Love You made popular by Reba McEntire and Linda Davis in 1993. A quick search on youtube reveals that Martina McBride also did a version with Kelly Clarkson early last year. It's darn good as well, y'all. Kelly is looking amazing, too. Bravo.

I'll Stand By You...

Ok I ain't gonna lie - I love me some Carrie Underwood. I have no idea what it is. She's just so darn good. This past week, American Idol did their show Idol Gives Back where they raised over 60 million dollars for under privileged children in the United States and Africa. While the show was slightly boring in my opinion there were some highlights. Annie Lennox and Kelly Clarkson both gave stellar performances but it was Ms. Underwood that blew me away. Carrie did a remake of The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You". I always loved the song and I think Carrie did it justice. The song takes on a new meaning when the backdrop is the AIDS crisis in Africa. The video below is a touching reminder that we have much to do in regards to this epidemic. Every little thing we can do is one step further in the fight ahead.

Oh and speaking of helping - if you are able - please help my friend Brandon who is making a trip across Africa in June to raise money for AIDS research.
