Artist Craig Gleason has decided to take his love of Gaga and put her likeness in an interesting place ~ on the US Dollar Bill. These are actually pretty fantastic however I'm not rushing to buy them up anytime soon. I do love the medium he chose though. Quite interesting. Check it out. Cute, right?

Art has a sticking point...

Look closely. These pictures are not what they seem. They look to be low resolution shots of various folks but in reality they are extremely intricate works of art using your standard push pin. Artist Eric Daigh has been creating these kick ass works of art for a while now with stunning results. I'm always impressed by artists who create using completely unorthodox materials to get what they want. I wanted to share a few of my faves below but please check out more here & here. Love it.

I stole this FULLY from one of my favorite sites out there ~ worldofwonder.net. I pulled this word for word from their site because it was just perfect and hilarious. I go to their site on a daily basis and without fail something makes me laugh out loud. They have the most ridiculous, hilarious and genuinely random posts to peruse every day. It doesn't hurt too that one of my favorite writers is a contributor ~ Mr. James St. James of Disco Bloodbath fame. Brilliant. If you haven't checked out their site, I implore you, do it NOW.

 Check this out. Via towleroad.com comes this very haunting photo. This is the downed airliner resting in the middle of the Hudson River before help arrived. What an absolutely crazy accident that was yesterday! WOW.

If the point of his stunt was make a complete fool of himself then he easily succeeded! If not, then it was a huge, massive, awful, and embarrassing failure. This hurts to watch - but I love it!

Dashus:Land reader and friend, Rachel, sent me the following image via Wired.com that is just mezmerizing. This one sentence from the article explains what you are looking so succinctly - Rapid, unconscious eye movements explain a famous optical illusion in which a still image appears to move. I love these types of things. They are beautiful. This makes me wanna sit back and do a lot of acid. Juuuuuust kidding! Ok -  a little. ;-)

Geek in the...South?

So my buddy Jason was browsing YouTube when he came across the following clip. It’s just a bizarre piece of film. There are so many things wrong with this video - the line dancing, the plethora of American flags hanging in the hall, and the fact that they chose Jason's song Geek in the Pink to perform to! Yikes. Don't miss the Confederate flag seen to right at second 41! Check it out. It's the gayest most bizarre thing I've seen in a while. Work it out!

In case you missed it, last week The New Yorker featured a story about a man trapped in a New York City office building elevator for 41 hours back 1999. 41 HOURS!?! Yeah - It's as bad as it sounds. As you can imagine, the experience left then man completely changed. Quite scary! Watch the video below. It's quite sad. How would you have reacted?

The article is quite interesting. While it opens with the story above, it continues on giving you a full history on elevators and the ins and outs (or shall we say "ups and downs"? - sorry!) on what makes them function.
