I have balanced out the figures in my head. counted every quarter, packed up every book you never read. moved everything into Love. the place is looking good. I think we should... but as you know, Time will have it’s say months will make way into years and then it’ll be closing time For us my dear dear Husband, that you could have been. you waited too long. (a fate worse than sin) I am past ripe now and raw with introspection. you missed the flight, flew right through the intersection. there was only one fatality. Us.
My fantastic friend Mark, sent me the following advert that is quite clever and entertaining. The commercial features what appears to be a menacing villain going about wreaking his daily havoc. It isn't until the end that you realize that he isn't a villain after all but rather...well...I'll let you see for yourself! This is so brilliant. Thanks Mark! xox.
New York City Waterfalls from the artist Olafur Eliasson finally began flowing today at the Southern tip of the Manhattan. This new installment will be the largest public art project since Christo and Jeanne-Claude's The Gates that were featured in Central Park in 2005. I wrote about this a while back and am so excited that the project has finally come to fruition! I loooooove weird kooky art installments like this. I also love that New York supports such random projects! The waterfalls are located at Pier 35 in Manhattan, near South and Rutgers Streets north of the Manhattan Bridge; at the Brooklyn tower of the Brooklyn Bridge; Piers 4 and 5 in Brooklyn, west of the Brooklyn Heights Promenade; and on the north shore of Governors Island. You can see most of these clearly from the South Street Seaport. The New York City Waterfallswill be activated daily and kept on from 7am to 10pm. At night the 'falls will be lit from behind. LOVE IT! I hope it looks as smashing as it does in these pictures. If you click HERE, you can see the NY Times Slide show featuring the installation. You check out the full article HERE which goes in to much more detail on the overall project and what it took to get it up and running as it is today. xox.
WTF? I don't know what she is saying but the hardest working chica in show business, Ms. La Pequeña, has a new video that is lovely. I don't know what it is about her but I love this hot mess. It's a totally tragic tranny wreck train wreck but one that I can't stop watching! Enjoy. xox.
I've never really been a fan of Josh Hartnett but after viewing his commercial for Armani's new fragrance, Diamonds, I could change my tune. The whole commercial seems very old Hollywood style but set in today's paparazzi hungry world. Josh all cleaned up and shirtless is a Josh I could get used to. Enjoy. xox.
I've been to many Yankees games before but I never really was all that interested. Baseball is cool and all but I'm just not a sports kinda guy. However, I would be completely interested if I had MADONNA sitting in front of me though. The below photos (viaJustJared.com) are of Madge and her two sons Rocco and David and daughter Lourdes at a weekend Yankees game. So cute. xox.
With the release of the Sex and the City movie a few weeks ago and the promotions that accompanied it, singer India.Arie was put back squarely in the spotlight. I'm sure she was never too far outside of it but I hadn't heard much of her in years. India.Arie did a remake of Don Henley's Heart of the Matter which was included in the trailer for the film. There are many times that I hear a remake of a track that I think never should have been done. Some songs are so good that any remake is never going to live up to the original. This is not one of those songs. India.Arie rules this song and made it deliciously her own. The below video features a live performance of the song. She throws a little of Rhianna's Umbrella in for good measure. Yummy. xox.
RJH's momma, who we lovingly call Cackles, is currently visiting her daughter in London for the week. I spoke to her today and she said that outside the Tate Modern in London, painted on one of the exterior walls, is a HUGE work of art done by the fabulous artist BLU. I featured his work on my site a while back and it's simply amazing. I checked out BLU's site - BluBlu.org - and found some more amazing videos that he has done. BLU's work is so stunningly original. This isn't just art, it's a movement - A brilliant frame by frame, step by step, moment by moment movement. Enjoy. xox.
La la la lovely. A rainbow above the Manhattan skyline - caught by a Curbed.com reader this week after one of the many storms that whizzed on through. I caught a few with my camera but these are far better. Beautiful! xox.
"No! No! No! I love drag queens! I have a drag queen named after me called Man Hathaway. When I found out, I thought, Wow, I have my very own drag queen. I really have arrived." - Anne Hathaway in the July InStyle Magazine speaking to the fabulous Simon Doonan.
La Pequeña Hillary Clinton is back and she is uuuuuuuunhappy! She is not one bit pleased with losing the Democratic nomination to Obama and she ain't afraid to show it - at least I think that's what is going on. Lil' lady has quite the tiny chip on her shoulder. I don't know what to make of her but i certainly know I love it! It's just a mess and I'm all for it. La Pequeña Hillary Clinton in '08. Don't joke, y'all. I'm writing her name in! xox.
