Golden Globe winner HELEN MIRREN finds MADONNA’s controversial 1992 SEX book inspirational - and admits she holds the star’s outspoken sexual views in high regard.
Mirren, who knows a thing or two about how baring your skin can overshadow your message or your work, insists she hated having to play a certain type of "sexy female" in the past - but admires Madonna’s directness in putting it all out there - literally. She says, "The thing that was imposed on me from the outside was crude and vulgar and distressful to me, and disturbing - that big t**s, blonde hair, DIANA DORS, blowsy kind of thing. But I think Madonna got it right. Madonna claimed it for herself, and I’ve always admired her for that."
The amazing artist goes on to say in this article "I loved that Sex book she did. I thought it was fantastic, because it was a big two fingers up, ’This is my sexuality, it’s not what you put on me, it’s mine."
Bookfinder.com listed 2006's Top Ten Out-Of-Print books and Madonna's SEX book topped the charts. The site states that Madge's SEX book has topped the list each year since it begin its compilation ion '03. If anyone still has their Madonna SEX book, you best hold on to that thing. It's gonna be worth a fortune some day.
