I won't bore you too greatly with another Golden Globes wrap up but I must say I was thrilled that Jennifer Hudson won best supporting actress for Dreamgirls and even more excited that Hellen Mirren won not once but twice for her role as queen Elizabeth I. Mirren won for Best Performance by an Actress In A Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television for HBO's Elizabeth I and again for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for The Queen. I never saw the HBO movie but I can imagine that her portrayal was equally similar and stunning. Quite shocking (or possibly not so) was Leonardo Decaprio's loss to Forest Whitaker (The Last King Of Scotland) who won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama.
Leonardo was nominated twice in the same category and it's thought that he was a definitely a top contender based on his superb work. However, being nominated twice in the same category did not work in his favor since his votes were likely split in half between the two nominations. I guess we'll have to see if the Oscars will be more kind. You can check out all of the winners here. Let's just hope they don't give Warren Beatty another lifetime achievement award. That speech was PAINFUL. No wonder Annette was drinking so heavily. She knew how dull his speech was going to be. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Eeeek.
